Could the Tom's experts look this over for anything that shouldn't be together? Trying to future proof out a few years at minimum, still have good graphics for video games while keeping enough CPU / RAM specs for work related tasks (VMs, VPNs, heavy coding, etc):

the sabretooth is a fine board, but its much better for AMD cpus then for intel. as an intel board it's average at best. Get yourself a ASUS Maximus V -something- they run about the same money, will overclock as well and give you more and better features. or a high end gigabyte ud4 or an asrock extreme 6 or something.

get 2 7950s in xfire... seems like amd is serious about fixing their xfire issues and right now you can get 2 for the price of that one 770 (and they'll destroy a 770, heck one of them isn't much slower then a 770 to begin with). If you must have nvidia get 2 760s. the 770, 780, Titan and 690 are all way too overpriced to suggest getting them right now.

I would go with this build:

Here's an awesome setup. The latest 4770K CPU and the best overclocking motherboard with minimal bells and whistles. The CPU cooler is the best. The two GTX 760's will be very fast, yet run cool and quiet. The power supply is a new top quality brand by Cooler Master, none are better.

Solution

love this build.

How do you feel about me swapping the case out with something like Rosewill's Thor V2 or a Corsair 650D? Really don't want anything with a handle on it, as sad as that is.. Just don't like the look of a handle.

Thanks for the vote! The Thor V2 is far better. I love the side fan blowing down on your GPU farm!

Side note, should I really replace the fans in the Thor V2 with aftermarket? I've read a few places and seen a few youtube videos that proclaim the stock fans in cases are god awful and new fans should be swapped out with them.

I'd just replace the fans on a need to basis. I would highly recommend RAM without the head spreaders. The cooler won't fit over them.

looking good. as for fans. i replace based on use. i heard all sorts of stories about antec case fans, yet the antec fans in my 902 are all dead silent. i had no reason to replace them.
