Hey guys,

I need some input on the following build. I am hoping to max out the witcher 2, bf3, and other high end games. Basically, this will be a gaming computer as well as a computer to run math programs for my econ classes.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157229
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136795
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371049
CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233

Now, this is subject to change because of the ever-changing prices on Newegg.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated; I would hate to spend this much money and it would not meet my expectations.

CPU is fine, mobo can be different, look at the Gigabyte Z68x range, good price for good boards. IMO that oc 6870 isn't worth it, rather get a 6950 stock or a GTX 560ti stock (about $40 More) that PSU is great. no point in the WD black, samsung spinpoint F3 is just as fast, DON'T PAY FOR SATA 3 and 64MB cache. only an SSD will get 6gb/s

I actually changed the mobo to a gigabyte z68 because it was a combo with the i5. I originally had it in my cart but it was out of stock so I had to get the asrock.

So, I guess my main concern is the graphics card. I plan on getting a monitor that is 1920x1080, if that makes a difference. I really want to get a card that will give me maxed out games (Witcher 2, Crisis, etc). So I guess I mainly need suggestion with regard to the type of gfx card.

for the graphics card, I suggest the Radeon HD 6950 Crossfire(crossfire means you get 2 of them) and that should cost you about $560. if your budget isn't that high, get the HD 6850 Crossfire. if you don't like using 2 cards in the same time (some people are paranoid of it) try the GeForce GTX580 or a single Radeon HD 6970 ( or 6950 ) (GTX580 is faster but some like Radeon over GeForce). I wouldn't suggest getting the HD 6970 crossfire because its performance isn't that much over the 6950

I was actually debating getting the 6870 xfire but perhaps the 6850 would be just as good and save me more money

don't get dual cards, sure it will be good for now but that leaves you with no upgrade options, rather get a single card (at that price point) and then upgrade to dual when games start getting more demanding. but if you don't want to upgrade later, or you plan on scrapping this in about 2 years, than go for dual 6850s, they beat SINGLE 6950 any day

This is true. Would a single 6950 be able to max out the witcher 2 and crysis and bf3, whatever?

i have a gtx 560ti, which is meant to give similar performance and i play crisis no problems with maxed settings @ 1920 x 1080, no idea about witcher 2 and bf3 though,
