Nice choice!
I would change a few things:
First of all cut the case down to a HAF 922 or Antec 900 Two too save a money and get a 5870, get a i5 760.

Oh and screw the Raptor there pretty bad get two Seagate 500GB 7200.12RPM (they use 500GB platers) and put them in RAID they will run faster.

Yes these are the drives I was talking about they are very fast because of the new platers.

OF course the 6870 was made to replace the 5850. The 6970 will replace the 5870.

That's a huge case for 1 HD, 1 optical and 1 GFX card. The HAF 922 w/ that PSU makes sense. But the 1200 has been replaced by the DF-85 and improves greatly on the 1200 if ya wanna stay full tower. The 1200 and DF-85 are sepcifically made to fit the CP series PSU's, so putting anything else in there that can't match it's performance is unwise. The CP is a performance match for Corsair's HX850 so it clearly outclasses the TX series.

I'd take the Sabertooth over the MSI board....right now newegg selling in combo only....but Amazon has for same $150 price.

On the RAM, ya have CAS 9 memory for $69 which seems outta place with the rest of the build, especially when CAS 6 is just $10 more

For $9 more, I'd get the i5-760

Your optical doesn't burn. This does for $1.50 more and is 33% faster

Hardwire your ethernet connection. Wireless is nice for a laptop for convenience. Desktops should take advantage of wired speed and reliability....wireless will get your character deaded in gaming.

Vertex 2 SSD w/ a 7200.12 or F3 1 TB would be my storage recommendation.

Sorry but your saying the HAF 922 is too big and you want him to replace it with the DF-85 which is more expensive and even bigger then the HAF 922? Also the TX XXX series is fine it's a great PSU for the price! But still I agree with your other points.

Comparison of a Vertex 2 vs. WD Velociraptor 600 GB.

The Vertex 2 benchmarks should be similar to any SF-1200 drive including the following:
Corsair Force
G.Skill Phoenix/Phoenix Pro
Mushkin Callisto
OCZ Agility 2
Patriot Inferno

If you get an SSD, just figure out which of the above is cheapest at your size (60, 90, or 120 GB...for some reason the 100 GB drives are priced at/higher than the 120 GB drives).

Because it's military class and they are really good they are tested to the max and have better capacitors and coolers then regular boards. Also for 150$ it's a steal get it now.
