Final Compatibility Check

Just finished this build and wanted to see if you guys could notice anything wrong with it before i purchased everything.

Pcpartpicker normally finds the compatibility issues, seeing as there are none I have a piece of advice. Don't buy the OS through one of the main provides buy it through g2a, or another store, it will save you a lot of money.

the power supply is under sized you need a 650w as min unit for that high end gpu your better off for safty picking up a 750w unit.

that GPU needs 600 at MOST. but yes the PSU is to small.

I would choose any PSU that is tier one or tier two class A, since tier two class B isn't really that well for overclocking.

For everyone up top saying "He needs more Power!" He doesn't, yes that card is high end, but he won't need to much power for it UNLESS he wants to SLI. The 970/980 is better, but takes less power than the 760/770/780. He will only need a higher wattage PSU if it's some no name brand of PSU.

But since he is OC'ing I would recommend Atleast 550, atleast. Maybe a 600 watt PSU. His CPU also takes less power to run than a AMD CPU, so he won't need to much of a wattage in his system.

each card takes atleast 150 TDP to power, abd these new cards draw less than the 700 series graphics cards that is why it's so low, they do not take 600 watts total to power, that is why 750 watts can SLI. They need to take in consideration the whole system. PC part picker is off my a few wattage, but it estimates fairly close. So yes that is why he chose a 430 watt PSU. OC now sucks up more wattage, so I recommended him 550-600 because of this and so that he doesnt not fully load his PSU. Now I cleaned my statement up. There we go 😛

anyway! 550 watts is the sweet spot and leaves you with some extra room for overclocking and upgrading! try to get a decent antec, xfx or seasonic, or any other tier 2b or better!

Thanks for all the links guys, especially the tier list. If I do end up doing SLI, about how many watts would I need? I picked an Antec HCG 620W since it was the cheapest one in tier 2A, but I don't know if that will be enough for another GPU.
