Hi

I have downloaded 5 videos directly from youtube and have attemped to use them in Finalcut pro to created a short advert. When play them in the viewer they are fine but once I drag them down onto the timeline and render them im getting a clicking noise ? Also when I then export them im noticing distortion each time I hear the same noise, can anybody help ? Please note Ive tried 3 different downloaders and Ive tried saving the files as flash, mp4 and avi and same problem.

Solution

Clicking is most likely a problem with the Audio codec or you have your Audio settings for FCP not matching the source material (your downloads). You didn't say what version of FCP you use?

If you've got final cut pro you should have compressor. I'd suggest encoding the downloaded youtube files to something else and see if that works any more successfully.

What format are the downloaded files?.... if they are in a flash format then you could try encoding with Adobe Media Encoder if you have it.
