so technically my first build but i have put in like a billion hours of research over 3 months now and have created about 10 builds on part picker and wasnt happy with any of them. This I am hoping could be the last build idea.

1000 euro is the max including windows but may be able to squeeze in 50 euro more. Let me state once more how this is in euro I am Irish and prices in USA are much cheaper. If a build theme is possible a white and black theme would suit perfectly.

I feel overclocking my cpu is a good idea to keep my pc from becoming out dated in the next 4ish years so i believe the 7600k is my best bet. Obviously i would then require a z270 mobo. I will not be using sli, wont need many sata ports because of new m.2 advances (cheaper) and most of the boards have 2 m.2 ports now anyways and will probably use a single WD 1tb hdd, and most board support loads of ram memory types too. The new z170-a prime looks ideal but cheaper boards are welcome if they have what is needed. Also any cooler accepted but i found this cooler to suit the build theme well Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK 68.5 CFM CPU Cooler

I already have a gtx 960 2gb from an upgrade to my barely upgradable alienware x51 r2. This can be used with the new build however this is the trickiest part of the build. I had a perfect build before to suit this but i recently became worried that i would not be able to run the games i wanted with it. I would like your opinions on this as I do not know whether to go for a much cheaper cpu setup and buy a 1070 to go with it... All opinions are really appreciated and this really is the trickiest decision in the entire build so even suggestions of other cards are very helpful.

16gb of ram is necessary as i currently have memory problems with 6gb. I chose the corsair vengeance led ram kit in white because it is a maximum of 10 euros more than is competitors and suits the build theme well. I also do not care about speeds if changes are made.

The rest of the build is self explanitory so have a look and feel free to completely change the list. Thank you so much for reading!

Also this build is only going to be used for gaming.

I had a moment and didn't realize the Intel drive was PCIe. That would work just fine, although the green PCB doesn't really 'work' with the colour scheme.

Personally, I'd keep the K CPU and Z170 board, as that'll allow you to OC in future to ensure the CPU can see you solidly through ~5 years or so.
That's not saying an i5-6500 wouldn't keep up necessarily, but with it's lower clock speed & no ability to OC, it may limit things in future.

For1080p gaming, the 1070 is a little overkill. Generally:
1060 / RX480 for 1080
1070 / 1080 for 1440p
1080 / TitanX(p) for 4K

While using a 1070 at 1080p should show substantial FPS, it doesn't seem worth the extra cost to me.

Skylake should be fine, Kaby Lake isn't bringing anything substantial to the table as far as performance or longevity really.

Your budget is 1000EUR? Maybe 1050EUR...... but yout PCPP build is 950GBP (about 1115EUR today). Can you confirm the intent there?

Assuming you'd be purchasing from the UK, so probably around 900-950?

What resolution do you intend to play at?

Assuming 1080p gaming, I'd look to something like this (1154 including a new GPU).

Gives you the black/white colour scheme, and includes a 3GB GTX 1060. The 960 will serve you ok if you wanted to use it for a while and then upgrade the GPU..

The original on part picker was designed as a rough idea and was certainly no set in stone, so the price was planned to lower a bit if possible.

Can i ask why you changed the hard drive and for the m.2 I am aware how powerful the 960 pro is but decided not to go for it over the intel m.2 because for the budget I am currently at the 50 pound (60 euro) difference really does count. Also the Intel should be fast enough as it too provides pcie not sata m.2

Also i would be gaming in 1080p.

If Kabylake was however available despite what you had said i can see no reason why not to purchase it as it will be at the same price and any future developments to be released this year using the new mobos will be available to me.

One last question do you think i would be better of buying a b150 board and an unoverclocked cpu then i wouldnt need a cooler either and then purchase a nicer graphics card like a 1070?

Thanks for the reply!

200 on a GPU now, and maybe the same again in 2 years would see a total investment ~400. Compared to that 400 today, the 1070 won't last as long as 2x 200 cards upgraded over time.

*If* Kaby Lake was available and *If* it were the same price, they sure. But it's not, and it won't be.
While the MSRP of Kaby Lake chips are very similar to their Skylake counterparts (and Z270 to Z170 boards too), in the 'real world', newer tech can demand a bit of a premium, or at the very least, the prior gen will be discounted some*.

*I'd expect to see Kaby Lake at least 10%+ over their MSRP, with Skylake prices staying static.
