your asus monitor is 144hz refresh rate so you could get 144 fps instead of the standard monitor 60

If you're aiming for 100FPS 1080p gaming I'd recommend the GTX 980. Although the 970 should get you at least 70FPS on most titles. Honestly though, I don't think most people can tell the difference between 70FPS and 100FPS.
