Hey everybody,

I am looking mostly for a final assessment to ensure the parts are good for 4k gaming at 60fps. While recommendations are welcome, I am not looking to completely remake the build or anything. It is just to make sure there are no glaring issues with the computer and that it is a solid build overall.

I will be reusing storage from my old build, which is the reason it is absent.

The Phanteks 300A is going to make that card a tight fit. Just a few suggestions.

Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower Case $109.99

Rear exhaust fan for that case so it doesn't become a hotbox.

ARCTIC P12 PWM 120mm 4-Pin Case Fan $16.98

This cpu cooler outperforms most if not all 240mm AIO's.

DeepCool AG620 Dual Tower CPU Cooler $59.99

Thanks for the recommendations!

I've decided to get the Fractal Design Meshify 2. It comes with a rear exhaust fan. It is slightly more expensive, but I've heard it is a good case. I'll also check out the air cooler, but I'm leaning toward an AIO right now.

That's a solid case ^^ ... another case to consider is the Pop Air and it comes with two front intake fans and a rear exhaust fan.

‘The Meshify 2 is a great case. It’s what I use in my 4K build. I went with a 1000W PSU and a 360mm AIO.

Good luck!

Good choices in your build. Yesterday I finally pushed the buttons on my new 4k build (retaining my Samsung 32" Neo G7 and 4080FE). Here is where I went:

Phanteks Eclipse G500A Mid Tower Case, DRGB
Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 PS
ASUS ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
EK Nucleus AIO CR360 Lux D-RGB
G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series (AMD Expo) 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30-38-38-96 F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR
Solidigm™ P44 Pro Series 2TB PCIe GEN 4 NVMe

I had been waiting for some time to see how the 7800x3d tested out, and had time to think about what I wanted and why. I like to game at 4k, though I need a "balanced" rig so all round performance is a priority. I generally go for high end, but not "halo" level horrible bang for the buck parts.

The 7900x just had a price drop from $550 to $423. Considering the higher overall application grunt of it's 12 cores vs. the 8 core 7800x3d, and the very small differences in gaming at 4k, I decided the 7900x was the ticket for me. It can be tuned down to non "X" 7900 efficiency or up to near 7950x levels if required.

Thanks for the feedback!

The 7900x is solid for 4k, I've heard. Ryzen is very compelling now, and the 7900x outperforms the 13600k in some applications. I'm more comfortable with Intel, though, and it is probably negligible at 4k anyway.

Right you are. The 7900x outperforms the 13600k by an overall average 15% in non-gaming applications according to Techpowerup's testing. The 13600k switches things up in 4k gaming, beating the 7900x by 2.3%. To move up to the current absolute best performance champs - the 13900k and the 7950x(3d) is a disproportionate jump in both price and power consumption IMOP.

I think we both went a smarter route in our respective red and blue systems, and my Mom gets a win because she inherits my current 3900x rig :)
