Final upgrade decision!! Help me find the best cpu for the price!

Hey all, I am upgrading my cpu from a pentium g4400 because ui believe its bottlenecking my 1060... I was thinking about getting an i5 6400/6500... buit should i get an i7 instead? this is for mostly gaming and some school work... i have a budget of $ 200, but am not trying to use all $200...

my specs:
- pentium g4400
- gtx 1060 6gb
- msi h170m - a pro
- corsair cx650m
- 8gb of ram
- coolermaster master box lite 3.1
- scythe kotetsu cpu cooler (i want to put this on new cpu)
i don't care about overclocking tbh...

I would go with the Intel Core i5-7500, since find it at the same price than the i5-6500.
Just make sure to update your BIOS, while you have your current CPU

The Scythe Kotetsu ,but it might not be compatible with Socket LGA1151.
The comparison might not be fair to the Cryorig C7, since it is a solution for small form factor where a tall cooler might not fit.

i checked, its compatible with 1151

I was installing one that was missing the 1151, but I think now they should all have the hardware.

i5-8500 since its 205 dollars and great performance,but if you dont wanna waste those 200$ get a i3-8100,i3-8300,i3-8350K these are great picks below 200 dollars,and the cooler is completely fine my man
