Hey Everyone,

First time builder here.

I want to build a PC primarily for gaming, streaming, video editing. I have a build in mind, but being this is my first build any suggestions will be welcomed.

Please let me know if there is anything else I will need or if certain parts don’t work well together. The budget I have is between $1500-$2000.

If you have suggestions please explain why, I would like to learn as well, please don’t just make a build for me.

The build I have in mind is:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K
MOTHERBOARD: MSI MSI Gaming Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel
MEMORY: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3
STORAGE: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 120GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-75E120B/AM
STORAGE: WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX
VIDEO CARD: MSI Radeon R9 390X DirectX 12 R9 390X GAMING 8G 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support ATX Video
CASE: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
POWER SUPPLY: EVGA SuperNOVA GS 220-GS-0650-V1 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI Ready and Crossfire Support Super Silent Continuous Power Supply
COOLING: Enermax Liqtech 240 All-in-One Liquid Cooler 27MM Thick Radiator w/ Duo High Pressure Airflow Fans
Monitor: BenQ 144Hz, 1ms High Performance 24-inch LED Gaming Monitor, 1920X1080(XL2411Z) (Eventually want to run triple monitor set up)

I will eventually want to overclock this set up. However, do I have enough cooling to run it at a safe temp (I know it wont be exact but just based of the cooling system), would I need more?

Also, for the case, if someone can tell me if all the components would fit in that case size or would I need a different one?

As noted above I eventually would want to run a triple monitor set up. Will the GPU I chose be able to handle it? Some games I would want to use all three screen some games only use one.

Games I play are COD, Witcher, Fallout 4, GTA5, LOL, racing games, sports games.

I want to be able to play on MAX settings.

I am looking at parts on newegg.ca, amazon.ca.

Thanks in advanced for everything.

Good build, everything looks compatible. The video card and possibly the AIO cooler may be a tight fit. The video card is 10.9 inches long and the case supports cards up to 11.0 inches. You'll be able to max out all games at 1080p.

Do you recommend a different case? Also, do you think the MSI Radeon R9 390X will be able to support 3 monitors, if all setting are on max?

Thanks for your response.

I think I would use a different case. There are better quality ones out there that will give you more room to build into. You should have no problem running triple monitor. Look at the Phanteks, NZXT's, and Corsairs.

Thanks, will check out other options for the case.

If I overclock it how fast do you think this set up would be?

Also, do you or any one have recommendations for gaming monitors ?

How much you can overclock will depend upon the CPU. You should be able to get at least 4.4 - 4.5. You can get a free sysnc 1080p monitor pretty cheap, or, if your budget allows, one of ASUS 1440p monitors.
