Finalizing you settings screen. Should it take long?

Hi.

Am in progress of installing my 8.1 off a USB and it has been stuck in the "Finalizing your settings" screen now for about an hour or so. Sometimes the screen goes black for about a sec and then turns back on.

I have the HERO MOBO. I entered the BIOS and booted from the drive. Everything went smooth up until the Finalizing screen.

Am installing to an Samsung 850 EVO SSD.

If the install has gone bad, can i restart and try again?

Please help.

Yes, you can easily reinstall windows, no need to get worried.
Are you already able to start up the command prompt (shift + F10)?
If so, you should try the tasklist command to see if there is any program, or programs, that are hugging all your resources.

try just pressing the reset/restart button on the case it might actually have completed the install just the screen didnt move to the desktop

though if that doesnt work and you re install and it freezes at the same point you may need to redo your bootable usb

It solved when i pushed the restart button =) one hour wasted.

Sorry for the late replay. But yes this was exactly what i did. I just said fuck it and i pushed the reset button and "taadaa" it completed the install. An hour wasted but it became good at the end.
