FINALLY first successful boot!!! A few post-boot quesions..

What should i do first? update drivers? do i also update bios? my roommate said i should update bios how do i do this?

2) Install / Update Video Card drivers

3) Install Anti-Virus software

4) Run Windows Updates

5) Install games, apps, etc and have fun.

I'm a supporter of if "it ain't broke don't fix"... Meaning I only update BIOS as required to fix a specific bug or give me support for a new component (CPU for example).

Yep thats a good plan. No sense messing with the Bios unless your having issues or need to for some kind of support such as a new processor.

whats best way to get video card updates? i came here: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx since i have radeon hd 5770 but none of those seem like actualy updates. they seem more like optional downloads

Umm yeah! CCC 11.2 is exactly what you want,the full 93.5mb is best.
Just Custom install it and click off junk you don't want.
Install gpu drivers as Admin for best results.

Go to either AMD or nVidia, depending on who made your video chip.
