Finally getting ready to build my system. need a few pointers.

Alright. Months of buying parts and stalling and I finally think I have everything.
ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Mobo
AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz CPU
16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 1600 SDRAM
MSI R9 290 4GB GPU
64GB SSD
2TB HDD
1000 Watt PSU

I looked at everything the other day, and for some reason it feels like I'm missing something... perhaps I'm just behind the times, but nothing came with those ribbon cables that go from hard drive to hard drive in my old computer.

Also, what steps will I have to take to properly configure my RAM, this will be my first time doing that.

Any other tips appreciated!

I have hit and surpassed my budget. I have a second R9 290 but I can't afford to really keep that. I also forgot to factor in a new HDMI monitor for the video card, so that put me over.
