[SOLVED] Find Motherboard Revision Number

Hi guys,

I’m upgrading my cpu and I’m looking at updating the BIOS. I’ve used CPU-Z, the command prompt and msinfo33 and have a Gigabyte Z97-HD3.

The problem is I can’t find the Revision Number. CPU-Z and command prompt just list it as X.X.

The current BIOS version is listed as F5 on msinfo32 and according to Gigabyte’s website the only revision with this version is the 1.0.

I know I have to be careful with BIOS updates so is there another way of finding the revision number?

Look to see if the information is written on the motherboard itself, where the model is labeled on it.

Have you tried the System Information Viewer from Gigabyte? @bios might work as well (and find the one for your motherboard).

Gigabyte usually puts revision number in bottom left corner of MB.
