Find out the max fps of a Monitor

Hello, I've just bought an Aoc g2460pqu monitor because of the 144 fps. The problem is that at the screen settings the only possible refreshrate is 60 Hz. I am using a Gainward Gtx 970 and a mini Displayport to Displayport cable. So could you please tell me how to check the max refreshrate of a monitor? Thank you.
