find xp key in windows.old

Hello, I upgraded my pc to Windows 7, but I would like to know my xp product key. The problem is the key on the PC is not the key I was using. Is there anyway to get the key back? I would not expect to find the product key in the windows.old. Has the xp key been deleted from the registry?

I opened Jellybean and nirsoft. They show the windows 7 key. I navigated to windows.old, and I got no results. Am I missing something?

In XP, the license key lives (I believe) in the registry. Which probably does not exist in Windows.old anymore.

The old XP license key is not the same as the new Win 7 license key.
Whatever tool you are using to find it will find only the new Win 7 key.
