I need to upgrade my 2008-2009 desktop and it's a HP running Windows 7 preinstalled.
I want a new CPU because mine isn't lasting good for a desktop in 2015 :/
My stuff and stuff info you might or not need.
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 215 Socket AM3 45 nm
Motherboard: Pegatron VOILET6 6.01
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9100

I want a CPU that cost around $50 to $120 that would be good enough for my little brother to play his favorite game (Minecraft duh lol). Hope it would be around 70 to 100 FPS. My GPU may matter but I dunno how to replace it 🙁

Verify that it is indeed your machine.
As you can see, the Phenom II X4 9xx is the top processor line that the BIOS will recognize unless HP offers a BIOS update you can flash. There would be no great performance increase anyway, by going to the 6 core over the 4 core. If you try to use a processor that is not listed on the support list, you run the chance of it not being recognized.

Either way, all the processors that you can upgrade to are obsolete. You will have to find...

It said you can add this"AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)" HP never listed the AMD Phenom II X6, is it possible to use the X6 (6 cores)
