So a nice person has enlightened me on how power supply calculations work, well I was having a really hard time finding a PSU that will work with the 55-60W XFX AMD Radeon HD 7750, for a low to mid price range, I mean does anyone out there have this card who can help me out with finding a power supply? From the reviews and some benchmarks i watched/saw, this card can handle Arma 3 and games i already own pretty well, I am really looking forward to purchasing this card but I need some help. Thanks to all who respond.

What are your PC specs?

Not all models. Only certain models of the TX series and certain HX and AX models. But the CX units are good budget units, and will do the job well. But they're not seasonic made.

I was looking at the CX430, but it seemed that the price was too good to be true, and I just wanted to ask around, but if you people think it's good, I may go for it. Anyways for the person who asked for my PC specs, here you go:

AMD Athlon II Quad-core 3.0ghz Processor
Current video card: Nvidia Geforce Gt-430
4GB DDR3 RAM
I believe the current processor is 250Watts, but idk how many watts go to the 12V Rail.

I'm pretty sure that's all you need to know, or that's all I really know that's important.

your Athlon CPU runs at 100 Watts

you don't need to change your 250 WATT power supply for HD7750

even for HD 7770 GHZ edition the total system power use is around 230 Watts

you don't neeeeed to upgrade your power for HD 7750

Thanks i guess that is useful, but what I heard is that i should be concerned about how many amps the 12V line gets, which is the part that transfers power to the video card. So if the 12V rail can sustain the video card I won't upgrade, or I might upgrade to be safe I mean I don't know. But if i can get the 12V rail's ampage for my current power supply i will see, I'm not 100% sure what my current psu is, so i'll just google my computer and read the specs. I've done it before I just don't remember.

I heard that a lot of people perfer the CX430, I mean it's cheap and from what I heard it's very reliable and powerful for gaming, which I'm sure it's obvious i'm turning this student/home pc of mine into a low end gaming machine. I already sunk $200 into a gaming keyboard and mouse, got them like 50% off from microcenter.

:) it will work . you are not talking about high end nor mid range card here.

don't waste your money ...

actually the PCIe Bus gives 75 watts and that's from the motherboard connector.

don't worry.

unless your power supply is not real 250 watt. like the cheap Chinese ones. but if it is a good brand , it will take even HD 7770 .

I think I'll open up my machine or google the built in power supply and tell you what it is to see what you think, all i remember is that it was cheap as hell when i googled it last, but i mean this PC i have is a student/home pc so I wouldn't assume it'd be that great, but I've been told the processor is rather good and it's proven that to me aswell
