Hi!
I just upgraded my 750ti to this new gpu 960 4gb edition. I noticed that some games (far cry 4, gta 5...) run just fine, but the fps is still dropped at some scenes and games don't run as smooth as I expected. So I think I'm gonna have to upgrade my i3-3220 (some said it could cause bottleneck to my current system). I hope you guys could suggest me an Intel cpu with a budget of less than $200 (sorry, I'm still at college)
Thanks in advance!

Solution
My first post in this thread will cover your needs nicely. It's a 4 core(I5) and under 200 bucks. Let us know what you end up doing :).
I would suggest a high end i5 like the i5 4690k or a mid-range i7. The i5 4690k overclocked would run Farcry 4 perfectly, probably at high settings. But it automatically overclocks itself to 4ghz under load so I would really recommend that. I use that CPU with my r9 270x (2gb) and can have mostly all my games like GTA V at high settings 60fps :)

sadly those are all well over $200, and they will need a new motherboard.

Oh I forgot about currency exchange. It was £190 for me in the UK...

Appologies XD

Thank Sam! But a problem is that such i5 is being sold at $230 in my country. So I think I have to save up =D Anw, i'll consider your advice .

No problem mate. It's a great CPU. You could see some cheaper options. I reckon you could overclock one and get similar performance with a slightly lower-end i5.

Thanks! I will do some more research on those. All I need is some suggestions among all kinds of processor out there :pt1cable:

Does your motherboard support PCI-E 3.0 x16? If you can find a source for one, you can go with a 3770K which should be compatible with your motherboard

If your motherboard does not include PCI-E 3.0 ports (pretty sure it doesn't, believe that was part of the 4th gen compatible mobo chipset) and if you have the capital, might be worth it to swap your motherboard and CPU. 4th gen i5 would still be an incredibly significant improvement over your existing i3 and shouldn't present an issue for your 960. If you go that route, here is a cost effective package for that:

PCIE 1 is still not really a bottleneck for most cards. PCIE 2.0 is perfectly fine for a 960.

It is a gigabyte B75M- HD3. And I think it does support pci e 3.0 x16

Hope that shipping fee won't be added up too much =D thanks anw!
