I've been thinking of a getting a new laptop before school starts, and I'd also like to use it for light gaming. I've come across a few in my general price range that have what I want(950M, I5/I7, SSD+HDD, 8GB), but I'm having trouble distinguishing between very similar looking models with significantly different price tags:

Why is the aspire e 15 that much cheaper? Are it's specs not identical to the asus, save for a slightly larger profile and less ports?

The aspire v15, also made by acer, is seemingly $100 more expensive for a processor that's on par with that of the e 15's.

I'm confused.

Thanks,
Dante

MERGED QUESTION
Question from aliensatemycarrots : "Deciding between a couple of acer 'gaming' laptops"

I'm looking to get a new laptop before school starts, something I can also do some light gaming on. I'm trying to decide between these two acer laptops:

http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16834315423

http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16834315305

The first has a worse cpu, but a 950m with gddr5. The second has the better processor, but it's 950m somehow has only gddr3(unless there's some common typo I'm unaware of). What would perform best with games? Pardon if the answer is obvious,
Dante
