i am hoping to improve my current pc as it is currently dreaful (http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04341331) i would like to be able to run games like the division and dying light. what upgrades should i get with £400?

Solution

The A10-7850B is an upgrade of sorts although I doubt you would have any perception that games are running more smoothly etc. Increasing your ram to 16gb is probably a more $ worthy investment.

thanks man, any upgrades for ram or cpu?

hey man, can i get a reply soon as these are for christmas?

You are kind of screwed in the processor upgrade department, but your motherboard should be able to handle 32gb of RAM. I wouldn't go with more than 8 or 16gb though. The 1050ti wouldn't be bad for you, but you could also look at the 1060 3gb, if it is very close in price the 1050ti, then I would go 1060. Just a thought.

is a good processor needed? and could i go for 1060 6gb and 16 gb ddr3 ram?

Well your processor is the FM2+ which is basically a dead socket with limited options and they aren't real strong processors anyway. I wouldn't waste money trying to upgrade it, just buy a new board, cpu, and RAM here in a year or so and you'll be better off. Right now, I would get the GPU and MAYBE get up to 8gb or possibly 16gb of RAM. Once you decide to get a new CPU, mobo, and RAM I would recommend an Intel i5 setup as they are much more powerful than any current AMD offering.

yes i heard that fm2plus was a bad socket, i have £400 to spend after Christmas and i know the build ill buy to go with my gpu and 16gb ram. what performance could i expect for games like the division and dying light?

Honestly I'm not sure since I've never played either of those games and not really sure on the requirements. I would google the game and system requirements and then see how close you are now and then where you stand after the upgrade.

well the GPU is obviously enough to run it and ram is good enough, but im not sure if the bad cpu will hold down the performance a lot
