I just finished building my first gaming pc, (woo hoo!) And while I was buying parts, I would upgrade some as my budget allowed. Because of that, I have a case, a 500w 80+ bronze power supply, a z77 motherboard that may or may not work, a gtx 750 (not ti) and 12gb (2x2 and 2x4) generic ddr3 ram. I also have an optiplex 790 dt with an i3 2120 and 4gb ddr3 in that. I am trying to decide if I should buy a cpu and motherboard, finish the build and sell the complete build and the optiplex, or should I try to sell the parts as is. If I should complete the build, what would be a recommended cpu/motherboard and a good price to sell it at?

2nd/3rd-gen CPUs are cheap. I'd buy one and find out if the motherboard works, that is if you just want something to do. If it doesn't work, I'd probably sell everything. Old motherboards have not been nice to me. I've had several fail within just a 1-2 months of using them again after sitting up for a while.

My local goodwill has an h51 and i5 4670(not k) that is $125 and one of the workers said is going to be 50% off tomorrow when they change color tags. At least I think it was an h51. Should I go for it and just use that to finish it off and sell it for like $300 or so?

It is an h81. Another question. I have an antec sonata ii, should I buy a couple case fans and build in that or buy a new case for aesthetics? And what would be a good price to sell it at?

I was thinking of doing 8gb ram for the 2 slots it has, the gtx 750, the 500w psu, and a 320gb hdd is what I have on hand
