Fios router connects very poorly! Can't browse, times out most of the time!

I live in a 3 bedroom small house. I have a Fios router in the bedroom along with a wired desktop, running Windows 10, I'm trying to set up a wireless desktop (Window 10) in the living room. My connection is very bad! It takes a long time for a page to load, and sometimes it won't display the page. I spoke with Fios tech support and they say that I need a wifi extender. Now my Fios speed is pretty low, it's 25/25. It works great for my wired desktop, but my wireless desktop in the living room which has an external usb wifi adaptor connects poorly sometimes drops the signal, or when connected it times out or displays the page one section at a time! Slow!

My question is, should I increase my fios speed or buy an extender? I can't afford both!

A 25/25 FIOS plan should be fine. I would recommend trying powerline network adapters which uses the electrical infrastructure of the house as ethernet.
