Firecuda Dilemma - Need Help

Hello,

I want to replace my 1TB HDD drive (which I use as a storage drive) for some time now. I've been scouting the Firecuda 2TB 2.5 (ST2000LX001) for that matter. However, as I read reviews and comments in forums I got a little septical, specially since it only has 8Gb NAND.

I work a lot in video editing, but I got an average laptop. I already maxed out my RAM to a meager 12Gb and got a SSD which I use for OS and programs. Considering I can't afford another SSD, and I actually need more that 1TB for the secondary drive, I want to know (from really life experience) if I should spend money on a Firecuda or I should wait for new SSHD to come out with better NAND.

Better yet, is there any alternatives already on the market with a similar price and specs? (2TB, 2.5, 7mm, (7200rpm maybe instead of SSHD)).

Thanks in advance!

The problem is, I can't seem to find any 7200rpm HDD with a 2TB storage solution for a conventional laptop, ence my last question. The SSHD seemed like a good option considering I only have 12Gb RAM, and as I seem to understand the 8Gb NAND works as cache anyway (sorry if I don't understand much)
