[citation][nom]phatboe[/nom]The Mozilla developers need to stick to using open standards for hardware acceleration instead of using MS's proprietary Direct2D GPU acceleration.[/citation]

Why other then cross platform which im sure they will do, the open standards suck.

I used Chrome for a while, but then returned to good ol' firefox because I don't enjoy being served up huge portions of megabotnet and adblockfail rape inside my rectum.

OPEN GL ONLY not all of us use FIREFOX on Windows. It's enough to make me switch to chrome. What's enough you ask? The completely disregard to the rest of the computing world that isn't MS's creation. OPEN GL runs across ALL (even LINUX) operating systems and it's been updated quite a bit in the past few years.

Not liking this.

This will make the Firefox speed difference between Windows and Linux/others more in favor of Windows, which could affect the number of people moving from Windows to other platforms.

The developers should remember one of the reasons they remain popular is that they are making open and free software. They stand to lose this popularity if they make decisions like this.
