Question Firefox/Adblock question

Hi all,

All Adblocking extensions in Firefox has a lot of permissions and I am removing any extension with such permissions but the ads on many sites are really annoying and some of them cpu intensive...

Is there an alternative way to block ads without risking my data?

By data breach I mean stealing passwords or giving a hacker an easy way to access passwords or so, not worried about consumer statistics or targeted ads

Ublock Origin and Ghostery installed on FF should get you a long way.
