Hi,

I have a computer that I used at work and bring home that is blocking a program called thinkorswim from accessing the internet. The program works in safemode but it will not connect in a normal startup. I have tried disabling the windows firewall, and mcafee. Any other ideas of services or windows settings that can be blocking the program?

Thanks

Many home routers have built-in firewalls. If possible, after disabling all of the firewall software in Windows that you can locate, attempt to bypass any router and connect directly to your modem. This should eliminate the possibility of a router based firewall causing your problem. If your connection works after bypassing any routers, you will need to delve into the configuration for your router and disable it's firewall. Understand of course, many truly short-sighted companies do not allow you to disable their built-in firewall, at which point you can either learn to live with the limitations of your current router and work around them using port forwarding, possible DMZ, or get a router with better designed firmware.

Yea I would never use it myself but it's the companies computer. Is there any program where I can see the packets that are being sent and blocked or what is blocking it? It works fine on my desktop so it is something on the computer itself since it works in safe mode.
