Alright so, I have finally build my first pc ever and am clearly excited :). Turns out that I won’t have internet until tomorrow since I just realized my MB doesn’t come with a wireless receiver. My main concern right now are the drivers though. I was able to successfully tweak some things in the BIOS and Start up and adjust some personal settings on my new Windows 8.1 without an issue.. With that being said, I would like to know why my SSD,MB, and GPU came with a CD? I don’t see any reason to put them in as of now. I think I’m still a bit lost understanding “The Drivers”.. When I do get internet tomorrow, what do you guys recommend I do as far as drivers go. Below are the links to what Parts came with CD’s. Sorry for the beginner question. Looking forward to any little bit of help or responses. Thanks ! 😉

Solution
Alright, this is very simple

A driver is basically a piece of software that enables your computer’s operating system to communicate with hardware.

You MB and GPU have compulsory drivers which have to be installed to make sure your computer performs properly and optimally.

For example, when you plug your computer into your monitor and load your OS up you will see it looks really big and weird on your screen. This is because your GPU driver is missing. Once installed your screen will look correct and in the right proportions.
Likewise, your USB 3.0 sockets on your motherboard may only be USB 2.0 speed until the drivers are installed.

So, grab your MB disc and GPU disk and install away.

You will need the following drivers:

Chipset
Audio
LAN
(Sometimes USB3)
Video
Intergrated graphics
Plus any other features your MB or GPU may have.

When you have internet is is best to download motherboard drivers and video drivers from the manufacturers website to get the most up-to-date ones.

Your GPU: www.nvidea.com
Your MB: http://www.asus.com/support
How to find your model name/no. : http://www.asus.com/support/Article/565/

So basically install all the required drivers and then you can use Windows more safely and properly!!!!

I hope this helps and enjoy your new PC!!

We all have that feeling of excitement. Just relax, take a step back and install everything properly. Make sure to choose the right OS as well!!!!!
