First Boot from new Build

My pc is done I have Windows 8.1. 1TB HDD & 256mb SSD
How do I install 8.1 to SSD? Is that what I do or install to HDD.
Any tutorials or videos that could help me.

if you want the os to the ssd. then unplug the hard drive for now and boot from windows cd. when it boots it see just the ssd and install the os. if it wont you may have to turn off secure boot and turn on legacy boot in the bios.

Is putting os on ssd the proper thing to do?

bios set cd rom to first then hard drive. if the hard drive has an issue you can always boot from cd rom. in the hard drive boot order set the ssd as first and remove all the other drives.

OK unplugged hard drive, installed os on ssd. plugged in hard drive. computer does not see it. my ssd is my C drive. where is my hard drive.
