So this issue came up when I did a fresh install of windows 10 after a faulty autoupdate of the anniversary update (tried everything, a format seemed the only way out). After the format everytime I turn my computer on it posts and then loads windows but then it displayes a black screen (it actually stops outputting signal to the monitor) and the lights on the keyboard go out (caps loc, scroll lock etc.) as well as the lights on the mouse. To get arround it I have to turn the power supply off turn it back on and the power the computer up, this time it boots correctly without issues. Note: this does not happen when i restart the computer or when i turn it on after it's been shut off and not many seconds have passed. It seems to happen on the first boot when the computer has been turn off for quite some time.
I have enough experience with computers and issues but this sounds too weird for me.

i dont know how helpful it will be, but i had this exact same issue on all boots when i first upgraded to win 10, which i fixed with a clean install. then again after i was an idiot and was goofing around with my display drivers( trying to overclock my monitor) and it took a lot of work fix by reinstalling all the drivers from scratch in safe mode, which would work.

it would almost seem like theres some component that isnt properly booting from cold for you. i assume you have the monitor connected to a gpu? if so, have you tried to do a clean install of the display drivers for it? i would also check your bios and make sure all the things like quickboot are disabled.

i also had issues where windows would hang right after login...

i also had issues where windows would hang right after login after isntalling an ssd, and that turned out to be a similar issue where things were loading out of order and screwing it up and t he problem was my widgets program i had had from back in win7. after i uninstalled it, that was fixed. not quite the same, but my point being be sure you dont have some legacy program going that win10 might not be playing nice with.

I disabled quickboot and it made no difference, i will try reinstalling the gpu driver and/or booting from cold into safe mode and see if this persists
