first build $2000 to $3000 budget need help (GAMING PC)

so i got back from deployment and decided i wanna get back into the pc world and game my a#$ off again well i need a rig so can you help me out? here is what I'm thinking so far:

First, thank you for serving your country. What branch are you in?

Try this. It is pricey, but you will get wicked performance. Like Outlander_04 said, playing a fps on both screens, or any other game, will not be fun. I would either get a 3rd display, or just play on one, and have the second for internet/recording.

Fella that's exactly what I said when I got back from my deployment last year lol. I ended up just upgrading almost all of my components and overclocking the snot out of my cpu with a new cooler on it. Still spent 2000+ though 😉

Since price isn't much of an issue....

CPU- i7 4770k
You could get it's little brother the i5 4670k with very similar performance, but hyperthreading does show some improvements in some games and probably more games will show the same improvements as time goes on. Probably not 100 dollars worth of improvement, but on your budget you could justify it.

Cooler: H100i
The H100i Is far better. For the price the Hyper 212 is the best there is but you'll definitely be able to squeak out some more mhz at much lower temps with the H100i.

Memory: The 1866 mhz one just make sure the cas latency is no higher than 9.

Storage: You could probably scale this one back a bit. Most people only feel the need for 250gb ssd's at the most but with your budget a 500gb option is viable. Honestly the 1tb option will be a waste as I doubt you'll ever fill it all the way up with just programs. Take that extra money and get a 3TB HDD.

GPU: I'd say either an asus, evga, msi, or gigabyte 780 or 780 ti. Those 4 brands all have a history of turning out quality parts. Either card will blow most any game out of the water. I went the 780 ti because I had the luxury of my deployment money to fall back on.

Case: NZXT Phantom 630. It's loaded with all the latest features and has great support for water cooling radiators. There are plenty of similar cases to this from other manufacturers so feel free to look at other reviews, just make sure they'll fit those ATX-XL motherboards your considering.

Do you mean 780 as in 780Ti? or just the 780? Run 2 780's only if you're going with 3 monitors. Run with one 780 or 780Ti if you're going with one monitor. That thing is a beast, you'll be smashing every game at high-ultra settings across your monitor(s).

Personally it'll come down to cost when looking for a partner 780, and how it looks. +1 to Baazing for his suggestions; any cards from those vendors are quality. Pick one you like based on looks, cooling factor, power requirement, etc. You won't really lose out on much choosing GB over MSI or MSI over EVGA or EVGA over ASUS etc.

But ASUS tends to be at more of a premium than the others; up to you to decide whether that's worth it or not.
