So Im doing my first build, Im pretty new to PC in general. I already have:

- EVGA GTX970 SC ACX 2.0
- Corsair Carbide 200R mid tower ATX

So based off those parts as a starting point, what do you guys recommend for the rest of my build? Im building it for minimum Oculus Rift requirements BTW. I'd prefer to get a Skylake cpu. I also wouldnt mind paying extra for DDR4.

Solution
The Skylake i5 below is a good option for a non-overclocking, single GPU setup...

Hey 'Sir Dabsalot', welcome to the community.
Sounds like you've got a good start on your new build. So much is based on personal preference, it would be difficult to 'advise' you on any particular component. All I can say is research, research, research and choose what you want based on that. It will take time but in the end, if nothing else, you'll earn bragging rights and a huge amount of 'I know what I'm taking about' knowledge. Good luck.

@Sir Dabsalot'
Having re-read my original comment, I realized that it wasn't very helpful. So let me add a few things that may help you with your first build.
You've already started your research by asking questions which is good. Read everything you can find about the components you are considering buying and, again, ask lots of questions from this as well as other forums, keeping in mind that a lot of times the answers others will give will be based partly upon their own personal preferences.
Go to 'YouTube' and check out videos about component reviews and also what other people used in their own builds.
Here are a few sites that may also aid you in your research to build the best rig on the block. LOL
