Anything I should change?

Ill be starting out with just the one GPU, but I want the system compatible with 2 GPU's so I wont need to go changing the PSU/MOBO.

Im not sure if im going to overclock, ive no experience with overclocking and havnt really looked into it, but in case I change my mind would that fan do the job? How far would I be able to overclock with this fan?

What are platinum PSU's? I know that gold PSU's usually means better performance and better on your electricity bill, is platinum pretty much the same thing just much better?

Im debating between these PSU's, please let me know what one you think I should go for and briefly why over the rest?

Is the system primarily for gaming? If So you could just use an I5 4690k and overclock it as it will have very similar performance to the I7 in gaming. The 4690k would also be able to handle 2 970s in SLI, the cpu cooler is a great air cooler and you'll be able to achieve a nice overclock should your chip permit it.

No ill be doing a decent amount of video editing along with playing games on this PC.

Wait so overclocking relies on your motherboard? How would I know what motherboards would be better for overclocking?

Thanks for the feedback!

In that case the I7 will benefit in video editing, and overclocking just depends if your motherboard/cpu support it, which the 4790k and Z97 mobos both support, what I meant by your chip permitting it is that each cpu is unique. Some achieve better or worse overclocks than another so your air cooler is a good one and will keep temps down, but the extent you are able to overclock will depend on your chip

Oh okay, do you think I would benefit much in adding another 8GB of ram adding up to 16GB?

Ive seen threads of people saying that there isnt much difference of anything above 8GB, with 8GB would i be able to render a video while using the PC with very little stress?

Like the laptop I have now, im not to sure of the exact specs as I bought it when I didnt know too much about computers but when I go to render a video, while its rendering the laptop is pretty slow at everything else.

Here are the specs of what I know it has:
CPU: Intel i3 2310M @ 2.10GHz
6GB Ram @ 1333 MHz (Using 2 of 4 ram slots)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (CPU Graphics)
HDD: 500GB 5400rpm

In terms of gaming performance 8gb is plenty, and 16 is overkill for a gaming rig. I mean if it's within your budget then another 8gb of ram certainly won't hurt. But since you already have the 4790k it should be plenty fast at rendering videos.
