I'm building my first build for video/music production/gaming.
Right now i'm working with a custom PC with : Z68 Asrock with i5 2500K and a GTX 560, which was a good deal and did a good job for 5 years now, but i need something more powerful.

I may be overkilling some things but this is my Pc for my video/music production and gaming:

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($374.95 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler ($89.90 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI KRAIT EDITION ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($254.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($104.95 @ Adorama)
Storage: Crucial MX200 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($168.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Storage: Hitachi Deskstar NAS 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($132.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($644.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: be quiet! Silent Base 800 ATX Mid Tower Case ($129.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($117.99 @ NCIX US)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) ($89.88 @ OutletPC)
Total: $2109.62

Keyboard, mouse and monitors alredy purchased.

The power supply is actually the EVGA Supernova G2 850W but there wasn't on the options on pcpartpicker. I hope the PSU is enough to power the system and maybe a dual 980ti down the line.

Is the system ok, or there are there things that have to be changed?

Thanks for the advice!

MB + CPU - X99 is a bit of overkill for your purposes, but is fine if you wanted to stick with it. The build below is on the LGA1151 socket with a Skylake CPU.
SSD - Changed to an M.2 model.
GPU - The GTX 980 isn't very far behind in performance compared to a GTX 980 Ti. The Ti isn't worth the cost IMHO.. Same thing could be said for the GTX 970 vs GTX 980 being only 10~% faster.

About the M.2 I'm also thinking put it instead of a regular SSD.

So the Noctua Nh-U12S is enough to cool down the cpu and be silent, because i can get the DarkRockPro3 for something like 73 Eur (Im from Slovenia) from a store here nearby in Italy. Maybe it is overkill, but i need to be as silent as possible, and the Dark Rock Pro is a massive cooler and i hope to achieve nice temps with as less noise as possible.
