My primary goal is to play modern games on high/ultra settings, and to record instruments through my external input into a DAWS for editing and mastering. There's a few things I've been meandering on and considering..

The monitor I chose is just placeholder; I've heard good things about TN panel monitors in that they have a high refresh rate and no input lag (I play Street Fighter a lot and it requires exact 1-frame accuracy inputs). Then, I've also heard about IPS panels that look great and can be overclocked? Something something Korean IPS something.. Just would like suggestions on a non-expensive monitor that looks pretty and has virtually instant response time and good refresh.

Aswell, for the music production end, is the 4690K a sufficient CPU? I chose the K model because I am rather interested in overclocking it if it is a more viable option than just shelling out for an i7. I'm not sure how much hyperthreading will aid with the DAWS I will be using (Reaper, Ableton?).

Is the PSU sufficient? I'm not sure if the video card is overclockable or not, or if the PSU can handle a second one in SLI down the road. I'll get more watts if it's needed is all.

I'm not sure if the MOBO is a good one or not, I read something about the pins being a bit shoddy or difficult to insert on.

Oh and finally I'm not sure what is considered a good case.. I am quite certain I would like a white/black/blue theme, white case. I have also looked at and am rather fond of the Corsair 500R, NZXT Phantom (although a bit pricier), Phanteks Enthoo Pro, and the Thermaltake Commader MS/I Snow Edition if anyone can provide a more intelligent suggestion based on those references.

Thanks very much in advance!

Latency stopped making a difference quiite a while ago and frequencies above 1600 offer less increase in performance. Just get the highest that is supported by your CPU. The latest CPUs benefit more with higher frequencies as compared to CAS.
