First build fans on but no display

So I just got done with my first pc build and I have everything pluged in I put one end of the hdmi cable in my Samsung smart tv and another in my graphics card I've never bootedthe pc before and I've monitored my laptop with the same hdmi cable on the same smart tv but when I boot the pc I get all excited because fans turn on but no display what's up

If you have a gpu installed make sure your hdmi is going to the card and not the onboard hdmi (if there is one). If it still doesn't work it may have to do with the pc having no drivers. That might require you to use a VGA or DVI cable plugged into the onboard ports untill you install the drivers for the gpu.
