First Build - Fans Turn On - No Display

Hello! I just finished(sort of) my first build in over a decade. I thought that I put everything together properly, but when I flipped the switch, the two case fans and the CPU fan turned on, the power light turned on and that's it.

Nothing is popping up on my monitor, there also wasn't any POST beep from the mobo.

One thing that troubled me during the install process was the graphics card. This model had 2x6 pins for its power supply, but I didn't have that, so I used two 6+2 PCI-E cords, using only the 6 pin part. Could this be the problem?

EDIT: So, I didn't hear this the first time I turned it on, but it sounds like it powers up, then a second later powers down, then it repowers.

EDIT2: One other thing that troubled me during the build was plugging in the CPU power cords. They were nestled between the top of the tower and the cooling fans and while I'm pretty sure they're connected properly, it's very hard to verify.

What's the next step to troubleshoot this?

Here are the specs:
CPU: Intel - Core i7-6800K 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-D15S 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler

Motherboard: ASRock - X99 Taichi ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Storage 1: Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
Storage 2: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card

Case: NZXT - S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

two stupid questions but easily overlooked. Is the monitor cable plugged into the video card? And is the monitor set to the correct input?

On a side note it is perfectly fine to use the 6+2 cable for those cards, just tuck the +2 part off to the side or bend it back onto the cable and zip-tie it back, that is normally what i do.

Was just about to say the same. Check the correct output from the video card is connected. I have occasionally had cards that wouldn't show any BIOS/POST if I had the wrong output connected. Also be sure that the monitor is looking for the correct source.

Good to hear about the cables! The monitor cable is plugged into the HDMI and there's only the one HDMI port.

Are you getting any error codes when turning it on (not sure if that board has an LED for codes)? Sometimes something may need to be reseated such as RAM/GPU etc. Make sure no extra standoffs are present under the motherboard, I've seen that be an issue before as well.

No error codes are popping up on Dr Debug, which makes me think it’s either a mobo or processor issue. I’m having a tech guy test both by inserting them into other desktops.
