First build: graphics card cable

Hi

Just about finished putting together my first ever build. Before I turn it on, I'd like to ask: my graphics card (gtx 970) has two 6 pin ports next to each other. My psu is modular, and I have one pcie cable but with two plugs on it. Can they both go in the graphics card, ie powered by two plugs on the same cable?

It doesn't matter if you use one cable that has two 6 pin pice cables or you use another separate cable to power it as long your psu is a decent quality unit.
