first build help on a budget

I tweaked your build a little. I added used 2x4GB Patriot Signature series ram. That you will have the benefit of dual channel ram. I also changed your case. I think it is a better looking case, and it has front USB 3.0. Let me know what you think. I also changed your motherboard to this MSI 970 gaming board. It supports SLI, so in the future you can simply add another 970 and be right back to gaming at ultra settings at 60fps.

And if USB 3.0 isn't important to you, then I would suggest going with this motherboard. The 990 chipset is better than the 970.

Or if USB 3.0 is important to you and you can spend up to 700 euros, then go with this board. It supports both SLI and crossfire, and has usb 3.0.

Not even close. That CPU is very powerful. I think this might be a little better setup for you though. I dropped the GPU down to a 280x, and was able to fit a SSD and a hyper 212 evo CPU cooler.

I have a 7970 (the 280x is just a rebranded 7970 with a few tweaks) and I get about 60fps on ultra settings in BF4. It boils down to what is more important to you. Super fast load times for programs, as well as your computer starting in about 15 seconds. Or longer load and boot times, but a more powerful GPU. I personally love my SSD and will never go without one. But that's me.

You dont want to buy that SSD.

Kigston is using async nram chips now that get a 3rd of the performance. They did this little quite switch-a-roo last year. They conveniently switched to crappy nram after all of the benchmarks were done with their better chips and the drive had established a good review among us and many other boards.

An ssd drive is great to improve overal system speed and quick boots. It wont help you acheive better benchmarks in gameplay though.

Frankly I would keep the better GPU and add an SSD latter.

You do want to do dual channel memory as everyone else has recommended. 2x4gb will be 10-15% better then 1x8gb.

And if you want to cheapen things up even more, you can get windows 8.1 Pro for only $23 from this website.
https://www.g2a.com/windows-8-professional-32-64-bit-cd-key-global.html

You purchase the key from them (and they verify it to be legal and working over a live chat with you), then just download windows 8.1 pro from the Microsoft website, burn it to either a CD or a flash drive, and follow the directions. I just did a fresh install on my SSD using this method, and everything is running perfect. Its a great deal!

Here's the link to the Microsoft website where you can download windows 8.1.

All of these type of websites are selling you illegal license keys, never buy a windows license without the authentic sticker.

its good to know the processor is good enough - i wasn't sure, i don't see a need a for an ssd at the moment but can always upgrade in the future, they are just too overpriced at the moment, the 280x is a good idea as its alot cheaper as well
Thank you

Thanks, that is good to know about the Kingston SSD's.

It's verified from Microsoft and running on my PC right now. Wouldn't it not work it if was illegal?

id prefer to get windows from a propper dealer, however much i dislike microsoft, dual channel i didn't know there was a difference, so thats good, am still unsure about gpu though :)
thank you

fair enough good point thanks
