Hey guys, I'm here to ask about my first gaming pc build which I'm building for christmas. I want to make sure that I'm not missing any important parts and that all my parts are compatible.

From what I see you are missing an OS (Unless you are planing to run linux or have windows already) and a disk drive. That will run you about another $110. $90 for windows and $20 for the disk drive.

Looks good, I would recommend getting 8GB of RAM though. 2x4GB.

I have an optical drive and windows 8.1, so I guess I'm ready to order then?

I'm going to get another 4gb soon, money is a bit of a push the now so 4gb will be fine for a couple months.

hope you have a monitor already....

apart from that, when you are building a gaming pc...go with a 8gb ram kit instead of a single 4gb module.

also in case you would like to oc your processor, you will need an after market cpu cooler.

as for the psu, i would highly recommend a 600W psu instead of a 500W

Looks pretty good, I would upgrade to a 8GB kit (2x4GB), and the R9-270X would be a good upgrade for a small cost. The Corsair CX PSUs are not very good, I would suggest the XFX 550 watt PSU, it is made by SeaSonic and a much more reliable option.
