Hi. I'm going to be attempting my first build pretty soon. Before I place the orders though, I want to make sure everything's good to go. It's main purpose is gaming and movies, the latter being largely the reason for the 1tb HDD. I'll likely order the parts at the start of next week.

The parts:

CPU - Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155

GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 680 4096 MB GDDR5 Dual Dual-Link DVI/mHDMI/DP/SLI Graphics Card

MOBO - ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

SSD - Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive

HDD - Western Digital Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA III, 64 MB Cache

RAM - Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

CASE - Antec Eleven Hundred Black Super Mid Tower Computer Case

PSU - SeaSonic 750W Power Supply X750 Gold

COOLER - ZALMAN CNPS 12X

OPTICAL DRIVE - LiteOn IHAS124-04

WIRELESS ADAPTER - PREMIERTEK POWERLINK HERMES 11BGN USB 1W HI-POWER ADAPTER 2X9DBI ANTENNA

I'm not really concerned with the price/value aspect of my choices, and I'm fully aware that certain choices like the USB wireless adapter are questionable as well as the overkill RAM. Just want to make sure everything is compatible and will work well, especially in regards to the case, will everything fit comfortably? Also, I don't have much use for the optical drive, I only really need it for the initial Win 7 installation, is there any way that can be properly circumvented, i.e. by using an external hard-drive instead? And if I made any other generally stupid mistakes, feel free to point them out.

Also any other building tips for a newbie would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help!
