Hello all! I'm new here so pardon any errors:

I want to build my first computer this summer, but I don't want buy the wrong parts and/or have too many problems. So what I want to know is if all the parts (listed below) would work together. Also, if you have any advice or can suggest a different part that would fit/work better, than please do so.

----

I will be attaching this computer to my TV, which is an old Toshiba Projector Television, so I can play games on the TV or just watch Internet videos. I will control it with a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Approximate Purchase Date: This summer
Budget Range: Less than $1000 would be nice
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (GTR2 mostly), Media (Internet)
Parts Not Required: Graphics Card
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com
Country of Origin: USA
Parts Preferences: by brand or type: Don't want to use an AMD processor
Overclocking: Probably not
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, if I find that I need it.
Monitor Resolution: No idea
Additional Comments: I already have a Graphics card (listed below)

----

Parts list:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth P67 —If you can think of a better Motherboard, suggest one, but please explain why it would be better.
PSU:CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W —I want to know if this will be enough...
Case: Antec One Hundred Black ATX
Fan/Cooling: Zalman CNPS5X SZ 92mm —If I use the motherboard listed above, then it will need a fan.
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM
Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB
CD/DVD: Samsung CD/DVD
Graphics Card: HIS Radeon 2600 XT 512 MB I already have this card
Other: Koutech IO-RCM621 Media Card Reader

Secondary question:

The TV is a Toshiba 42H83, and it has a DVI-D (Dual Link) Female input (which is the 2nd to last one on this image). The graphics card has 2 DVI-I (Dual Link) female connections.

I was wondering if I could use this adapter and this cable to connect the TV & computer without too much loss in quality.

—Thanks in advanced!

^ Frankly you could use a Graphics card upgrade,... the 2600XT is pretty old and did not have much good performance even in its time,... It will certainly hold back the CPU,...
You are spending so much on other parts, but being a gaming PC, you are skimping on the Graphics card is not good,... Even say ~$110 card like the HD 6770/ 5770 can make a great difference in gaming performance,...

Here is a rebuild with some alternatives,...
CPU + Graphics card-
i5 + HD 6770
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.662888

Mobo + RAM
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 + G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.674958
The Sabertooth is no doubt a good board, but will you really use the extra features that it provides ?? High overclocking and such ?? Even the above board can overclock good, can do SLI/ Crossfire and IMO better suited,...
RAM - 8GB has become cheap nowadays and with the above combo is a very good deal,....

PSU + HDD -
The Corsair 650TX V2 + Samsung F3 1TB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.668390

DVD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136238

CASE - IMO this is a better one for the money
HAF 912
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233

Card Reader - Same

Cable - Why do you need that adapter ? Just using the cable you can connect them as both have Female DVI connections and the cable has male connections at both the ends,....Correct me if am wrong,...

Total - ~$745

>I like the Antec case, so I will keep that.

>The combos you suggested are no longer available, except for the CPU & Graphics card

>There are several different kinds of DVI, I want to make sure everything will work and fit together

>I don't need 1 TB of Hard Drive space..

-----------
So here, after a [strike]few [/strike]a lot of changes from what you have suggested, is the new build:

CPU: Core i5-2500k
GPU: SAPPHIRE 100338L Radeon HD 6770 1GB
^Combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.662888

PSU: Corsair Enthusiat Series CMPSU-650TX 650W
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB
Case: Same as before
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3
Fan: Same as before —Should I still use this heatsink, or just use the one included with the CPU?
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB
Other: Same card reader as before

This adds up to ~800$

So, with the modifications, will it still work together?

—Thanks for taking the time to go over my list :D

^ Some suggestions and combo alternatives if you will be buying soon,...
CPU + Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.676009
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.660242

And video card separately,...

PSU + HDD

CASE - Antec 300 Illusion

Hopefully this will be the final parts list:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k
Motherboard: MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
*CPU & Motherboard are combo'd (link)

GPU: SAPPHIRE 100338L Radeon HD 6770 1GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB —No change, the HDD in the combo you suggested didn't have very good reviews.
Case: Antec 100
PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W —Has fantastic reviews
Fan: XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm —As suggested
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB —Same as before
CD/DVD: Samsung CD/DVD —Same as before
Other: Koutech IO-RCM621 Media Card Reader —Same as before

If I go with the CPU & Motherboard combo, I will want to change to a more-reviewed graphics card. So I will probably go with one of these cards:
MSI N460GTX Cyclone
EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460

The main things I need to know:

1. Will the above components all work together? (Including the 2 GPU's)
2. Which GPU would be better, the EVGA or the MSI?

It looks fine,...
As for your questions -
1. Yes, it would work, but you would need power adapters when running 2 graphic cards as the PSU has only 2 PCIe power connectors,... Or get this PSU -

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371049

2. GPU - I would suggest the EVGA, for its warranty, also is clocked higher ...

Oh, I'm not going to use 2 graphics cards. I was giving 2 choices, as they both looked pretty good
