First build: Maximus VIII Hero, Hero Alpha or Formula

I'm doing my first build and I'm having trouble choosing the motherboard for it.
I've watched some reviews at youtube and I figured they're all somewhat similar however I would like to hear out some opinions on this. I have to be honest, Formula's armor is probably what got me interested in it, do you think it's worth the price or I'd be better off with Hero or Hero Alpha?

Well it depends on what you are planning to do. Honestly all three are great choices. If you can afford the formula, you won't go wrong with it. But again, the hero or hero alpha can probably satisfy your needs. What else are you getting for your first build?

I'm getting an Intel i7 6700k, probably 4x 8 GB 3200 MHz Gskill Ripjaws V DDR4, Gigabyte GeForce GTX970 and then a cpu fan, cheap case, a decent power supply and a ssd

Well in that case the Hero will be good enough. But if you can afford the Formula, the extra features will be nice to have. Besides, that armor looks HOT XD

I went the Hero and love it ! Might compare the 3 and see if any have particular features you want/need that others don't, can compare here:

I agree , I own Hero boards , can't go wrong.
