Ok, so ive done research for about 2 weeks now, but im still a bit confoozled on what parts i should get.
So far i've bought these items for my build-
Nzxt phantom 410 computer case
http://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Phantom-Tower-Gaming-Case/dp/B006I2H084/ref=pd_ybh_3
Planar 27" 1080p 2ms LCD Monitor
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A3401314&dgc=SS&cid=247544&lid=4287295
Windows 7 premium 64-bit
Approximate Purchase Date: 1-2 weeks (Before Diablo 3 ideally)
Budget Range: ~800$ After Rebates
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, web surfing, watching videos
Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, mouse pad
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Prefer amazon and microcenter, but open to anywhere for a good price(1hour drive to microcenter in santa clara)
Country: USA (CA)
Parts Preferences: none
Overclocking: Yes, in the future
SLI or Crossfire: maybe, doubt it though
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: I would like it to run as quietly as possible, but can compromise if the benefits exceed the noisiness.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU- So for the cpu, im most definitely getting an i5 3570k
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0388577
GPU- As for the gpu, im still undecided. Thought about getting a 560 ti...but im thinking of waiting for the new nvidia chips and either get one of those, or at least hopefully get some price drops. Will use the hd4000 until i get a discrete video card
MOBO- The motherboard is the most confusing aspect for me. Im pretty sure i want a z77, as the h77 doesnt allow for overclocking,i think. However i have no idea which one to get...whats the difference between a $250ish one versus a $130ish one. Example
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-P8Z77-V-LX-Intel-Motherboard/dp/B007MKGF82/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336616738&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Intel-Motherboard-P8Z77-V-DELUXE/dp/B007G51VEQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336616738&sr=1-2
Internal Drives- For my drives, I'm probably gonna get the crucial m4 128gb ssd(OS and Games)
http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-Inch-Solid-State-CT128M4SSD2/dp/B004W2JKZI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336617032&sr=1-1
and probably the Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB SATA III Intellipower 64 MB
http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Intellipower-3-5-Inch-Internal/dp/B0053YKMGA/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336617098&sr=1-3
Im assuming the green version is quieter than the black version, since its only 5400rpm vs 7200rpm. However, does that make a huge difference in performance? if it does id sacrifice quite for speed.
PSU- Again, im not sure what kind of PSU i should get. I'm thinking about 600W, but dont want to pay too much for it. Then again i dont want a crappy one either
Ram- ??Maybe these corsair http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-PC3-12800-1600mHz-CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B/dp/B004QBUL1C/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1336617743&sr=1-3
Well thats about it, a few final questions though. Should i buy any extra fans for cooling purposes??? should i get a blu ray optical drive or regular DVD??? Also, do i need a soundcard in order to hook up my speakers(im thinking yes)?
Anyways, thanks for reading, and any help will be appreciated.
