Hey guys, I will be building a new computer pretty soon and I'd appreciate some advice as my knowledge about gaming pcs is not the greatest. First of all, I will post the parts I want to buy. I'd also like to know if there are better alternatives or any incompatibilities with some parts. As for the asssembling, I'll be fine since ive done it a couple times.

Ok a few things:

Motherboard - The motherboard you listed is for a socket AM3 processor (AMD CPU), if you want the i7-2600k or other SandyBridge processor, YOU NEED SOCKET 1155.

GPU - 6970, great choice. Brand doesn't make too much difference, sometimes cards are clocked a little higher than reference or offer better cooling or longer warranty. XFX and Sapphire i believe are popular manufacturer choices for ATI cards.

PSU - 850w Recommend for Crossfire 6970's

HDD - Samsung SpinPoint F3 is generally considered the best value 1TB HDD.

CPU - You wont lose any noticeable gaming performance choosing the i5-2500k over the i7-2600k. Unless your doing lots of video coding/rendering, the i5-2500k will be fine.
