I am a complete novice and might be in over my head by making something more difficult than it is. I've installed what you've seen so far but I need help wiring. my build is;

i5 4690k 3.5
ASUS strix GTX 970
ASUS z97-a lga 1150 Motherboard
8gb (4x2) G Skill Ripjaw x Series ddr3 1600
EVGA 120-g1-0650 650W power supply 80g
Fractal Design Define r5 case
1TB WDB 3.5"
500gb 2.5 SSD Samsung

I have some pictures of what I've done so far. I believe the stock fan is incorrect (I didn't know where to put it and the closer fan port wasn't available. I'd be in serious debt to anyone that can help me. The manuals I'm reading are so vague and I'm just not sure where to put what. Sorry for the awful pictures, if you need me to take a more specific one let me know. Thanks ahead of time guys

Solution
The case can be fitted with multiple 120/140 mm fans. They included two Fractal Design Dynamic GP-14 140mm Fans with the case. These fans have a 3-pin power connector.

The motherboard has a few chassis fan headers on it. These are 4-pin from the diagram in motherboard manual. 4-pin fans are PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) and are usually more expensive than 3-pin straight DC voltage fans. However, no problem, you can connect 3-pin fans to the motherboard 4-pin headers. They are keyed with a notch on the connectors.

I would have the fans blowing in from the front and side, blowing out from the top and back.
Read chapter 2.7 in motherboard manual for information on software Q-fan control.

These Cooler Master fans are also good...

the cpu cooler or the fan that came with the case? Because that was predone and I couldn't find any arrows. Looking at reviews of the case all the fans look that way. Which area of the motherboard should I attach in to?

Solution

So should I turn the back fan around or just install some more fans afterwhile?
All those wires that came with the r5 I'm not sure of how to install. The back ones are rather odd, and not labeled. The front ones with the blue wire listed, do those all fit generally at the bottom where they are near?

I tested my PC and the power supply works, and turns on both the back fan and the cpu cooler. My video card illuminates a white light, but when I had it plugged up via HDMI to my tv, nothing showed up. I do not have a typical monitor, even for the one in my room (32" vizio led). How can I fix this to test what I do have connected? I still have to figure out how to install the extra fan, but I also haven't started looking yet. still not entirely sure where to set up the wires for the r5 to allow usb/power button etc. If anyone has a guide for that I'd appreciate it (the r5 manual has no step by step directions for me to read. It has one page of pictures, but it's quite vague.
