So this is my first computer build and I'm wondering if this is a solid build or if theirs areas that I can improve and maybe save money. Also would this psu do the job or am I better of getting a 620 watt one that some websites I saw recommend. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/chueko25/saved/

I agree with alexoiu, rather go for a kit of RAM. Why do you want the Noctua cooler? You can go for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 for less and it's an awesome cooler. Are you going to overclock your system? if not why not save more money on the build and go for the non-K 4690? It has the Intel Boost incorporated so it boosts itself...

made some changes for you: dual channel ram, better quality SSD, better gpu, and MUCH better PSU

if you can swing a few extra bucks, grab a 290X it will be better at the slightly higher resolution. you will also want to upgrade to a bigger PSU, however, maybe something like 750 Watt EVGA B2

I also created a new List...Everything listed has a specific purpose. The screen you listed has a higher resolution, but the screen I listed you will see much more of a difference in the picture quality. The 144hz screen's quality is amazing!

@gamerboy91, if you're going to suggest a locked cpu, there is no need for a Z97 motherboard or aftermarket cpu cooler. also, the screen you suggest does not have a better picture quality. it's a TN panel which means it has worse quality than the IPS, but with faster response times and refresh rates which makes motion seem more clear.

and just so you know, you don't have to copy and paste the whole pcpartpicker list from the web page, just click the "[bb]" at the top of the list and it will give you a bulletin board formatted list. it's easier on the eyes :)
