Hi folks,

I've been a pc gamer for over 7 years, since I was 15, and today, I thought it was time for an upgrade. For my previous builds, I always had them custom built to save me the time (I was a very deft at building ANYTHING in my teen years, but now I build a wide array of things, so I planned my next gaming pc as my next building project. Here are my specs, before I pose my question:

i7-6700k 4.0Ghz
Sapphire Nitro R9 390
Gigabyte Z170-HD3 moBo
16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 RAM
Kingston SSDnow 120GB SSD
Western Digital 1TB HDD
Thermaltake Water 3.0 cpu cooler
NZXT Phantom 530 case

Now, at the beginning of my build, I followed new eggs pc building tutorial video. I followed Paul step by step, and started on the external build. I installed my nice cpu with no issues, as well as the cpu cooler, following the exact instructions provided. I installed the ram easily. For the test boot, I didn't install the GPU, because I wanted to limit the amount of components on the board to make it as easy as possible to spot issues. That being said, I plugged the HDMI from the monitor into the motherboard port, plugged in the new psu to a working outlet, and PROPERLY connected all the cables to their respective ports on the board (I checked this like 10 times). I, for some reason, was in possession of 2 identical power supplies, so I tried the post boot on both of the power bricks. Made sure the psu was on, shorted the start pin on the mobo REPEATEDLY, and there is nothing. No beeps, no lights, nothing g sponning, it's all silent....

I was excited to get this build going, but it feels pretty ****** to have this happen. I swear I've done everything by the book. I just don't know what the problem is. (I made use of a static strap, as well as touched my metal case very frequently) no bent cpu pins either!

I just hope the $360 brand new cpu that I waitedm onths for isn't DOA!

Oops! My PSU is a EVGA 850w Gold rated supply!

Also, I did indeed have the cpu cooler hooked up and mounted.

If I got ZERO response, could it be a motherboard issue?
