I would agree get the FX-6300 you would be happier with the performance. If your PSU is a off brand consider a good quality PSU from Corsair Seasonic XFX Antec or such. The PSU is really one of the most important components in a PC. It is really the heart of the system and if it goes bad it can take the whole system with it.

I was going to change and go with Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze PSU is this ok? also any advice on gpu? would like maybe a slightly cheaper alternative, as this is at top of my budget at the min. thanks again

This power supply is ok but not great.
You only really need a 500W power supply.
Here are some units that are better than the CX above:
Antec HCG 520
Seasonic G 550
Seasonic S12ii 520

You could get an Nvidia GTX 650 Ti boost, which is cheaper and close in performance to the R9 270.

This guy is also right, you only need around 500W so those are some good choices.
The nvidia option is preety much the same as the R9 and i do believe it uses less power, so unless you want amd, you may want the GTX.
