I am new to building a gaming pc and was wondering if this seems like a good build and if the components are all compatible. Also wanted to know if Windows 8 would be a good OS. Any help would be great!-Thanks

That PSU is probably junk. change it out for antec, Corsair, Seaosnic, XFX.

Drop the CPU cooler because you will not be overclocking.

Looks fine. Just drop the CPU cooler and that Corsair PSu is great.

Sorry one more question- would the R9 270 video card work with this setup because I think I will go with that one. Is that a good card?

Yes it is a good card. Get the 270x though. That card is slightly better than a gtx660.

I think I might go with the i5 4570 will that be compatible and does it seem like a good cpu? also the same questions for the msi h87m-g43 motherboard. sorry for so many questions

Yes that CPU is perfectly fine but it will show basically no performance increase over the 4430. ONLY get it if it costs the same or less than the 4430.
